The difference is in the dream.

The difference is in the dream.I find it fitting that the title of this post coincides with MLK Jr’s day. A very fitting day, for a very fitting man. A man with a vision, a man with a dream. Take a brief moment and try to comprehend the tenacity of man, just in general. Take another moment and try to comprehend the tenacity of man, except this time with a dream. My money is on the man with the dream, every time. There isn’t a mountain too tall, or an ocean too wide that a man with a dream can’t overcome, come hell or high water. Please keep this in mind as I continue on…This has been a topic I’ve been wanting to voice my opinion on for quite some time and I think now is a good of a time as any.My Education.I graduated WestWood College in October of 2005, with my bachelors in Game Software Development, I worked 50 ...

Life’s lessons, learned from a 25ish year old.

A few months ago I celebrated my 25th birthday and as such assumed that another year older meant another year wiser. Well, as it would turn out, I was wrong …. again. Somethings in life I’ll never understand, and there are somethings in life I think I’ve got squared away. Nuggets of information tucked nice and neatly in the dark recesses of my mind, only to be used on Trivia Thursday nights. Some are pretty common sense issues, others, others took me many moons to fine tune and adjust to get right. For the first 10,000 readers, I’ll provide this knowledge with you for 3 easy payments of 49.99$. Please read the fine print before submitting your payments.Clean the lint trap. - Something that should be taken very seriously. The lint trap in your local campus/laundry mat should be cleaned to provide the highest level of heat! This tip alone could save you the 3 easy payments of 49.99$ quarters ...

Carpe Diem.

It seems the more I try to bring stability to my life, the more chaotic it becomes. Not a new development or a shocker, but relevant none the less. It would explain why I’ve been absent for quite some time, and it would explain why I was only 2 days away from having my ozweegoville, my memories and my life’s digital legacy erased.Spending the past week mulling the decision to let my digital ozweegoville slip into the abyss, it only took an email stating that it would all be erased permanently for me to make up my mind.It Stays. My ozweegoville has so many memories for me. Over the years it’s been both a crutch and a curse and yet at the end of the day it still contains the chronicles of my life. How can one let go such memories you’re probably asking yourself? It’s easy. Within these digital walls lie many demons of mine. Many secrets and many chapters in my ...

My.Life.To.Date(M.L.T.D)

Within the past week or two, I was standing atop Pikes Peak via their cog railway with amazing views. I went tubing up at Boulder Creek only to lose my Oakleys, hit my ass on just about every rock imaginable but had an amazing time, also was so close to Chris Henderson of 3 doors down(One of my favorite bands) that I got hit in the face with a guitar pick.It got me thinking of all the cool and neat adventures(to me at least) I’ve been on in my lifetime, things that if when I die and CNN for whatever reason does a story on me, a cliff notes version of my life, a list of things that when I’m old and gray, suffering amnesia, I can reflect back on, or even stories that I might share with future generations. All the cool/neat/amazing/awesome/interesting things, an incomplete but ever expanding and growing recollections. So without further ado, My Life To Date(M.L.T.D), in ...

The “A” Game; Just falling short

We’ve all experienced it. Even I have become a victim to it at one point or another, and if I’m honest, far too many times. Perhaps victim isn’t the right word. Maybe it should have read, Even I have found myself in this situation, far too many times. There is a saying, “One man’s A game, is another man’s C game”. Ok, so I just made that up, but what it means is that your best sometimes isn’t THE best and as an end result, you end up falling short of your objective. Be it in relationships. The woman of your dreams found another man with a faster flashier car, a bigger pocket book, bigger biceps … a bigger pen*cough* … I meant pen(you know, one of those cool pens that you can write with underwater and upside down, one of those pens?). I’m going to show my complete and utter dorkiness but I feel I must. For the sake of ...

Enjoying Gods Playground.

This weekend was the twin cone wheeling adventure. Last weekend it was camping. The previous weekend before that was moving. My life year to date has been one awesome adventure. I’ve been holding true to my promise of at least 2 outings a month. Be it hiking, camping, wheeling or just a plain walk.I apologise in advance. Understand that I haven’t blogged in a very long time, and the analogy that comes to mind is a waterhose that’s been kinked and is now being released.Expect randomness. Nay, expect awesomeness. You know, on second thought, just expect some randomness.Wanting to blog everyday now(seriously, don’t laugh) for the past 6 months, I’ve been having an extremely difficult time putting pen to paper, or in this case fingers to keyboard. I’m not sure what it is. Lack of motivation perhaps? The inability to produce something noteworthy? Whatever the case may be, I’ve thought about blogging, alot. Thinking about doing something, and actually doing it ...

Go West Young Man, Go West!

West.By far, without a doubt my favorite direction to go. I’m not alone in this regard, even Buddhists believe heading west is the path towards enlightenment. The sun eventually makes it’s way towards west and on top of that, pioneers migrated and settled the west, and lets not forget how the west was won.Regardless of it’s timeless connotations, I personally like the west because for me, in Denver, it means the mountains! I didn’t start until last year, my addiction for altitude, but it’s gaining and gaining, and with the great weather we’ve been experiencing, my addiction has started early! I promised myself last year that I would do more hiking, biking and camping by all accounts. This year has started off on a good foot. Last weekend me and K went to hike with the puppies, and this weekend, the puppies and I went hiking. I’m pretty sure if I had it my way I’d go every weekend.I am going ...

I caught the ‘Meme’ Bug ….

It seems as if there is a pretty nasty bug going around. The ‘meme‘ bug. I’m blaming the water this time around. Last time this bug hit it was due in part because of National Blog Posting MOnth. This time it was a note that was tagged in. At first, it was just one person … the next day, two tags …. the next day 4 tags…. and it just seems to grow exponentially. I figured not only will I post up my meme, but I’ll respond in paragraph form, mostly, and It’ll be a multi-part series. So here is the first part ………. ‘15 Things you probably didn’t know about me’I’m anal retentive when it comes to ironing. I mean ANAL. Every morning for as long as I can remember I’ve always ironed my clothes. Even boxers and socks if need be. I know what your thinking, and the only thing I can say is pray for me.Even after 15+ ...

On cold nights in a prayer for dawn, but the daylight isn’t what she wants.

Whew. What a year. I have to admit, it’s already shaping up to be a good one. One worth blogging about. One worth remembering. My main reason for posting(although I have many) was due in part to cross a partial item off my Bucket List! Item #9 was to learn to snowboard, so I’m going to have to amend the list. I didn’t learn to snowboard, but I DID go skiing! 6 Years of living in the Rockies I figured it was about time, and the opportunity arose. My goal is if it’s on my list, regardless of how daunting, to say yes and cross it off.We headed up to Copper early Saturday morning and truth be told it was a pretty decent drive. The whole morning I was pretty sick to my stomach. Not due to the flue or cold, but I was pretty nervous. Everybody I had talked to in regards to hitting the slopes basically painted a nightmare ...

My Bucket List.

With the passing of time, one year into the next, it’s customary for me to tell you all about how I’m going to quit smoking, lose weight by going to the gym everyday, or a resolution to go solve world hunger. Sadly, life doesn’t work out exactly according to plan, so in the spirit of the New Year, I give to you, not only my new years resolution, but an updated “Bucket List”. Hopefully when I get to cross them off my list, I’ll be able to update everybody with a blog entry! Hopefully I’ll be able to update this list frequently with items I get to remove!Bury my feet with the incoming and outgoing tide of the ocean(the gulf doesn’t count. I’m talking Atlantic/Pacific).Touch a dolphin. Nay, did I say touch? I meant kiss.Watch the Buffalo Bills win a SuperBowl.Drive a vehicle 200mph+, or own a Corvette. Either will do.I want to spend enough time in the boonies to ...
