Last night I made my apologies for not staying in touch with everybody like I should have, however, this time around, I’ll be saying sorry due to the lack of coherence in my last post. I think I was half asleep when I wrote that. Regardless, I’m sorry for not posting in forever, and I’m sorry for the quality(or lack thereof) in regards to my posts.
Sometimes life gets so hectic and so crazy that we lose track of the important things in life. Sorry again … did I say important? I meant to say the simplest of things in life. The smallest minute details of which bring about the greatest happiness. For some that’s the thought of crawling into a warm comfortable bed next to ones significant other. For others it’s a nice mixed drink and a stogy. Maybe even blogging. Who knows ….
I do know that for the past month I’ve neglected alot of things. Things that need not ever be neglected, and regardless of their circumstances, I need to set aside time for these things. For me, for my happiness. For my sanity.
Work and life have both been hectic, crazy to boot. Mountains turned to mole hills. Deadlines coming and going. Heart attacks approaching. The simplest of tasks turned complicated. In times like these I need to get back to what makes me me. I need to get back to my ABC’s. So in the spirit of my favorite acronym, lets begin.
A is for Addicted.
I’m addicted to chex party mix, and I’m also addicted to a few certain individuals in my life. A is also for asses, and it seems like they keep rearing their ugly heads at every corner.
B is for Beauty.
Just taking a few moments out of my day reveals so much beauty. The rockies, the water, the silence, the peace. B is also for Bachelor, which I am and realizing it’s not what I want to be for the rest of my life.
C is for Character.
I’ve learned alot about my character over the last month. I always go through stages and evolutions in my life, some more than others, and this year has taught me alot about the man that I am, and the man I’ve yet to become. C is also for Church. I’ve gone to this church a long time ago, but I think I may start going more often than not now. I’ve really come to appreciate it, and given it’s not a conventional church, it’s planted the seed of interest. Which is a start. It’s awesome, it’s like going to a show ever Saturday. They sing, and it’s non-judgmental. It’s a church I can see myself going to on a regular basis.
D is for Dolly & Determination.
Sometimes with enough determination, anything is possible. I knew the moment I laid eyes on Dolly as she was siting in the parking lot, that she was the one I was to be with. I get what I want, not because I’m cocky, but because I’m persistent. Ok, maybe a little cocky …
E is for Enough.
The gap between more and enough never closes. I can attest to that. Unfortunately …. but I’m learning(See the letter “C” above).
F is for Fat.
Well, not just fat but fat and happy. I am really happy, and relieved at this very moment. I’m living fat and happy, and it feels really good. Ok, fat too….
G is for Georgy & Garlic.
I can’t tell you how tasty the Lotus Kitchen’s garlic kitchen is. Over the last month, I’ve made it a point to stop in on (almost) every Saturday and eat some. I think I may start doing this en route to church, but we’ll see. That’s all yet to be decided. G is also for geckos, which sadly one passed away in the last month
Besides that, the two remaining geckos are doing great and yes, Georgy is doing great too! PetSmart is moving buildings, so everything has been 75% off, so needless to say they now have a kick ass home to live in.
H is for Happy.
I’m pretty happy at the moment. (see the letter F). I may pout and piss and moan, but overall I really couldn’t be happier. Everything seems to be going very smoothly, and for that I can’t complain.
I is for Illusions.
Sometimes people(myself included) lie to themselves to the point where they seem to think what they are telling themselves to be the truth, but in reality it’s just an illusion. A well thought out illusion. It’s sad really.
J is for Jimmy Johns.
Damn tasty sub sandwiches. A staple of my diet for the past month. Enough said.
K is for ???
I need a mulligan on this one. Sue me.
L is for Living.
How I make my living. Aka my job is going really well. It’s hectic with new clients coming on, but I can’t complain in the least. I really do love my job, and in over a year of working there I’ve never once sighed before going into work wishing I had something better. Not once, and that in itself is a good feeling.
M is for Mistakes.
I’ve made plenty of them over the past month, although nothing detrimental nor anything catastrophic. All in all my mistakes have been limited, and with each one, I’ve learned from them. Each and every one. I can’t avoid mistakes, but I had better damn sure learn from them, and thus far I have. I’m a happy camper. M is also for Mighty Mouse and the MacBook that I recently bought(and am typing on now). I love it. Its worth getting … and I just got a cheapie.
N is for Negative Nancy’s.
They are out there, from time to time I’m even a negative nancy. There are a few in my life right now …. bleh.
O is for Optimistic.
Me being optimistic? I know! Pretty crazy right …. but it’s true. So many things that haven’t gone right and yet I’m still holding out for the best. I know it’ll work out …
P is for Panic.
I’ve done alot of panicking over the past month, and I’ve also done alot of soul searching during these panicking moments. Very therapeutic I might add.
Q is for Quality.
The quality of life for me in the past few months, believe it or not, has improved drastically now that I’m on a more monetary friendly budget. It’s amazing how some things change, and for the better too.
R is for Remotes
Or my missing remote that I just recently found. How sweet is that?
S is for Sister.
My sister is coming to town pretty soon! We are going to have a great time!I can’t wait to see her, and we’ve been planning this for a while, so hopefully it’s a nice little escape from the daily life. Either way, S is for Sister!
T is for Television.
I’m trying to get my mac hooked up to my TV. We’ll see how that goes. I’ve been glued to it too with the primaries and election coverage taking place. I will admit, they have reported on the same stories so often it’s nauseating.
U is for Unicorns
Oh how I wish they would have existed. Actually, U is for umbrellas, because Ive been hoping and praying for a little rain. I like the rain ….
V is for Vodka.
Hands down, the greatest mix drink with a little diet coke/dr pepper. Damn tasty. Along with a nice stogy and chex party mix, yum! If you haven’t noticed, I’m drinking, smoking and eating, oh … and typing … all at the same time. Getting back to my KISS philosophy.
W is for Wowzers.
Sometimes people in my life make me step back and say WOW. Both in a positive way and a negative way. Some more drastic than others. It’s also for Weezer and the song Say it ain’t so. It just came on over my Itunes. Great stuff ….
X is for Xcellent.
Is that a word? I hope so … because like I said before, life has been hectic. It’s been stressful. But overall in the last month, it’s been Xcellent. Alot of monkeys off my back, some more place don my back, but for the most part. All in all, it’s going pretty swell.
Y is for Yellow
It’s also for the livestrong bracelet I’ve yet to take off my wrist in years, that keeps me living strong on a daily basis.
Z is for …. oh dear.
I give up …. thankfully this is the last letter!
Anywho, I know it’s not much, but hopefully I’ll keep posting more, we’ll see. We’ll see.
Night everybody
