For the first time in a long time, I’ve come to a solid agreement with myself on one critical issue.
I am not father material, nor could I ever handle the responsibilities of a father/parent.
Most people know me, realize that I’m not a huge fan of kids, however as of late they’ve been changing my mind. One dirty diaper at a time. However, tonight, as I shop for my little buddy Austin’s b-day gifts, I realized my many faults as it would be called to parenthood.
Is it just me, or is it incredibly difficult these days to find gifts for people? Maybe it’s me, and maybe I’m reading to much into things, but I couldn’t help but chuckle. Everything I picked up was a “No, I better not because …..”.
For example, They’ve got these cool learning centers that you hook up to your TV, let the little ones learn how to read and spell and such. As I picked it up I kept thinking “No, I better not because I’m sure it’ll make a ton of racket. No, I better not because I’m sure that’s what his parents wants him to do is sit in front of the TV all stinking day.”.
I found a punching bag with a “Cars” theme. He loves cars. “No, better not, I don’t want his parents thinking I want him to grow up to be a violent smuck”. Hmmmmm, what else, oh a coloring book. “No, don’t want his parents to think I’m trying to turn him gay.” HAHA, ok, so I know I’m taking it too far, but it didn’t hit me until I picked up a few lego sets and didn’t realize the “Made for X years +”. /ugh. So many choices, and now 99% of them are out of it. doh! Ok, so what now?
Anyways, long story short, I realized I’m not destined for parent hood anytime soon given the fact that as I walk down the next isle, I found myself staring at pirate ships, pirate costumes and wood cutout dragons! I knew I had to have them for myself, I don’t care if the age is 3+, I’ll be 23 in September which means I fit the criteria. I feel like a little kid, and at times I am a little kid and therefore it’s easy to see why I’m not destined for parenthood.
Sorry Austin, I couldn’t help but to open the gifts I bought for you. I’ll remember to get you some super cool gifs that I won’t open 
So, That was my night. Did I mention that I cleaned out george’s cage? I took some photos, so go check out my flickr account.
I also have cable tv and internet now! Wahooo!
Anyways, that’s all I have for now. Until tomorrow. I have alot to say, but not too much time to say it.
