If one can have such a great weekend, I think I had it. It started off on Friday, but Saturday is where the real magic took place.
Saturday I woke up semi-early. Not by choice of course, but by my phone and Adam nagging at me like he usually does. Do this, do that … bleh bleh bleh bleh bleh. Thank god were not married. So we started off the morning(well what I consider morning, it was around 1-2 oclock or so!) We headed up to the new Dick Sporting Goods Arena for the Rapids game. It was semi cold, but if you think I’m going to let weather get in the way of Soccer, buds, great food and gorgeous hot women wearing sambas your out of your flipping mind.
First impression is just amazing and that’s just the drive towards the park. At first all you can see is the many light poles that light the 22+ Kentucky blue grass groomed fields. Next thing that caught my eye was the huge TV looking sign a good two miles away from the stadium that showed the schedule, date/time, weather conditions and such.
Once you get passed the awe of it all, you finally get to the parking lot, where it was described to me as the itchy and scratchy lots. Apparently we parked in the itchy lot o.0 Once parked you make your way to the park, and after a long hike to the entrance, your in a gorgeous entry way that screams "I’m new and amazing, and I’m better than you". Or so I thought that’s what it was screaming!
Once inside, I just kind of sat there and stared. My jaw(inside my head of course) was dropped straight to the floor. My first thing I noticed was how perfect the grass was. /sigh. It was perfect.
We had pretty good seats next to the corner flag. We could throw a stone and literally hit the players. When the action was away you could always stare at the jumbo tron and take a peek at the action.
There was a goofy dude wearing a headband and tube socks with his pants sagging that went onto the field. It was funny because the security guards were like, uh, is that my job to get the guy off the field? He was out there for a while and appeared to be heckling the other team. It was definetly hilarious, and what made it better is he hopped the fence 2 feet away from where me and Adam were sitting.
The whole day was hot sauce. The game was awesome, the park was awesome. Just a very cool experience, one in which I’ll be making plans to go again in the very near future.
I’ve posted pictures too! Next time I’ll take a real camera and not rely on my blackberry. It was pretty cold so I should be forgiven o.0
Afterwards we decided to hit up the LK. The LK was our old stomping grounds in college that had the best china man food EVER.
We topped off the day with beavis and butthead. I stayed at home and coded a bunch for my new website. Which will be much more cheery I promise and I sat and watched Scrubs and Southpark all day. I’m pooped …
This weekend has taken a good toll on me but it’s time for bed.
Until tomorrow, check out the new photos I’ve posted under Denver, and also Under Welcome to Dick. I’ll be making many improvements to OzweegoVille in the coming week, so stay posted.
